The research focuses on the community of the Estonian Academy of Arts with an emphasis on communication and a sense of unity between the people. Students’ honest and at times excruciating descriptions of the current situation are compared to the 80s alumni memories of lively student life and self-organizing practices.
The other half of the study maps and describes the self-organizing practices in the current EKA, looking for possible solutions to the low enthusiasm and rare communication between the students. The aim is to understand the value of self-organizing practices in revitalizing the community.
