,,Replicas of Pop’’ investigates the spreading and the circulation of western music in Soviet Estonia, when you sometimes had to travel from one end of Estonia to the other or sacrifice a good night’s sleep for just one record. The project is focusing on the notebooks that people were filling in on the side. The notebooks were necessary to have, because the music was recorded on tapes or on cassettes, but the information from the album covers had to be noted down as well. The work gives an overview of the notebooks, their visuals and the stories of the individuals that were engaging with this phenomenon.
